My deepest condolences to Cynthia and your family. Although I did not know Lorretta, you spoke so fondly of her and I can tell she was such a joy to be around. I am so glad you were able to spend the past couple of precious weeks with her. Thinking of you always. Heather Sears :) *hugs*

To my dear friend, when I was told of your passing, the first thing that came to mind was she is now with her husband, her best friend, and soul mate. I was not expecting to receive that type of news, and I was truly sad but I thought to myself, she is no longer suffering.
During the time you were in my life, you truly brought me great joy. Even in the middle of my miseries you always assured me that everything happens for a reason, trust in God and everything will be ok. As I am also a person of faith, your comments were truly appreciated and assured me that life is what you make of it.
One comment that you made to me quite often was "when someone treats you in a way that is less than respectful, we need to remember it's not about you, it's about them. You also believed that this was an indication of how truly insecure and unhappy they are as individuals and that everyone deserves happiness. I will carry this message close to my heart for the rest of my life.
No matter what life brought you, you made the best of it. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, you lived life to the fullest. As you always said "we all go when our time comes." You continued to participate in community activities, paint nights (which you always looked forward to) and you let nothing stop you in doing what you wanted to do. I am very proud to know that you were able to accomplish the kayak festival two years in a row, the last being this passed August and you rocked it! I know that your family was very important to you and I am happy that you were able to attend your nephews wedding, even though you were unsure you could do the drive. As you are a strong woman, you pulled through it and created memories by doing so. Which you shared with me upon your return and I am happy that we had the opportunity for you to do so.
I could write a book on how much of a positive impact that you had on my life and so many others. Lorretta, I am just not sure you knew how or what type of influence you had on everyone you met. It was in your passing that the truth came out and many people have very fond memories of you. Let's be real, how could they not as you were always "Way Beyond Awesome."
When I read your obit, I was glad to see that you had the opportunity to write your own and leave a message for all of us who cared. Even in your obit, your true self came out and for all of us left behind we are glad to have this one last memory.
I know you looked forward to the annual festivals each year, whether it be the St. Anne's or the Western Fair. This picture that was included in your obit is a true photo of you and the things that you enjoyed. I will keep this photo close knowing that the smile you have has probably not been removed since you have been reunited with your husband.
I am going to close this by saying, earth has lost a great human being but heaven has gained an angel. Until we meet again.........."Air Fist Bump."

Loretta - what a thoughtful, heartwarming tribute. It is so authentic – just like you.
I was sorry to learn of your passing, but I have been picturing the celebration – the dancing and laughter that has been going on since your arrival.
In the arms of your loved ones in heaven, your pain and sadness have been replaced with peace, love and joy
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your authenticity and your non judgmental love for those who crossed your path while you walked among us. Love and prayers from your ex next door neighbour Johanna Tobin

I never met Loretta, but I do know how amazing a person she is. In spending many precious moments with Cyndi, I came to appreciate an incredibly loving person. I know the difficulties of losing a loved one, but I feel my special Mom’s presence every day. We never truly die. We pass onto a whole new life. I look forward to meeting Loretta one day, a woman who made a difference in so many lives. She will continue to shine upon us. My mom and her are already great friends. There’s not a doubt in my mind. God bless you all. May He comfort you at this time. Love Chris

Lorretta was very special to me and an honour to call my friend. I liked bringing her surprises at work; her eyes would just light up and say that I was a “wonderful, thoughtful and kind young lady.” She always made me feel special and she will be greatly missed. I hope she realized how much joy she brought to people.
