About Pre-Planning

Whether you decide to pre-plan or pre-pay your final wishes, I recommend planning with a licensed funeral director.  A licensed funeral director has the best knowledge of products and services available to you; and it’s the funeral director who is responsible for executing your wishes when the time comes.

When you pre-plan your final wishes with a licensed funeral director, there is a detailed plan on file which outlines your wishes and makes the process easier for your family at the time of need.  The funeral director oversees the paperwork, documents and the services, leaving your family worry-free and better able to focus on each other.

Pre-paying your final wishes is a personal choice.  You should never feel pressured to pre-pay for the services that you have discussed with your funeral director.  If you choose to pre-pay your final wishes, you will receive a copy of the pre-paid service contract that details the cost of products and services you select.  The funds are deposited in trust at a financial institution and registered in your name.  You will also receive a copy of the certificate of deposit.

The pre-paid funds generate tax free interest, which helps offset the cost of inflation.  If there are excess funds at the time of need, the excess funds will be returned to the beneficiary or to the estate.  Excess funds can also be used to pay for things like flowers, catering, obituary notices, etc.

Pre-planned and Pre-paid final wishes have always been transferable to another funeral home.  If you hold prearrangements and have changes in your preferences, family dynamics, or in the firm that you have planned with, your policy can be easily transferred at no cost.  A simple phone call is all it takes.

Pre-planning and pre-payment consultation is a free service that we provide.  We want you to make informed decisions that you are comfortable with.

Sincerely,
