Obituary of Barbara Huber

HUBER – Barbara Maaike (nee Turenhout) of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family, a day after celebrating her 90^th birthday.  Beloved wife of the late Jacobus “Jack” Huber (2015).  Barbara is survived by children Wayne (Marilyn) Huber of Port Bruce, Barb (Bob) Laye of Exeter, and Jack Huber of Port Bruce. Dearly loved grandmother of Julie (Paul) Cumberland and their children Michaela and Leah of St. Thomas, Rianne (Brian) Gingerich and their daughter Mackenzie of Grand Bend, Vanessa (Cam) Eveland and their children Maaike and Caia of St. Joseph, and Alicia (Charlie) Rau and their children Danica and Roscoe of Exeter.  Barbara is also survived by her sisters Annie (Piet) Janssen, Jet (Kees) VanderVladeringbrook; her brother Wilhelm Turenhout all of Holland; and by her many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Henry and Bartje Turenhout and by her brothers Nico and Martyn in the Netherlands.  Barbara was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in St. Thomas.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 1:00 - 2:00pm, with the memorial service taking place in the chapel at 2:00pm.  Interment of ashes in South Park Cemetery.  If desired, donations to STEGH Foundation or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
