Obituary of Lura Jean Varney

VARNEY, Lura Jean (nee Anger) passed away at her home with family at her side on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the age of 80. Loving wife and best friend of the late Robert Varney (2014). Mother of three wonderful children Matt (Lisa), Mark (Deb) and Marsha (John); and 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lura will be missed by her sisters June Cooper and Cathy Lovelock (Bill). Lura is predeceased by her parents Gene and Florence Anger and her brother Jim Anger. Lura worked at Kmart for many years in the health and beauty department. A special thanks to Jody and all the team at VON for their help. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). A private memorial service will be held with interment of ashes at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
