I met John over 32 years ago at CAMI, and my son, Sebastian (then 3yrs old) and I remained friends for many years. John was a kind, funny and generous friend, and I am lucky to have known him. I met Sarah and David several times, and my heart goes out to both of them, and their families. I have many fond and funny memories of John, and I would like to share THE BICYCLE INCIDENT. John was living in London and one Sunday morning decided he was going to bicycle to Port Stanley. I told him he wasn't Lance Armstrong, but he went anyway! About 7 hours later I received a call asking me to rescue him "somewhere between Port Stanley and St. Thomas".(before cell phones). I am not positive, but I don't think he attempted that again. When I married in 1997, I received a lovely note from him....I still have it to this day. Since I heard of John's passing, I have been very sad. He was a special friend, and my thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and his many friends. Rest in peace John, and God Bless. Frances (Levy) Dunleavy

In May of 1977, John recruited me from the University of Windsor and he planned an interview schedule for me for a labor relations rep position in the Oshawa plant. I will never forget he picked me up in a beat up Corvair that looked like it was going to break down any minute. I thought, what am I doing here, or was it a Lounsbury test. He actually hired me and I will never forget what a great leader and teacher he was. I was fortunate to recruit him as the General Assembly Manager when we worked together at the all new Cami plant in Ingersol Ontario. He was a tremendous team player and leader. Rest In Peace John. Tom LaSorda.

John was a great leader and mentor to all of us who worked with him at CAMI. His "joie de vivre" and sense of humour was contagious!

To Anne and the Lounsbury Family,
Robin Stirling Maffei (Mrs. Albert Maffei) sends her sincerest condolences. Anne and I attended Myrtle St. School together years ago. I never met John, but by all accounts, he was a great guy. I have not experienced this type of great loss. May your private and family memories, and the love of friends and God sustain you always. May God bless you.

Lounsbury Family--- Thinking of all of you and John in years past and times spent with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Hugh. John did live at Appleby Line for a couple summers when he was working a summer job at a plant in Burlington so we had many dinners and evening television watching back in those days-- John was always great - upbeat, funny and so polite and grateful to mom and dad for hosting him. As well as lots of memories when we were all really young and had sunday and holiday dinners together with the two families. This was a lovely video to watch- treasure your memories-- cousin jan Taylor walker. with love!!

So sorry to hear of your loss. While we'd only known John briefly, he was always cheerful and friendly when we saw him in the neighbourhood. We are sure he will be missed by many. A donation was made to the STEGH on his behalf.

We will miss John. I've known John for over 25 years and would see him on a regular basis two or three times a year. It usually involved golf. We (Jack Andruschat and brothers-in-law) all enjoyed golf, the company, and the trash talking camaraderie that goes with it. Jack would put together the summer and fall sojourns to the links during the day and to the pinochle table in the evening.
We taught John how to play pinochle. John was slow to learn at first, but his acumen improved rapidly when we started playing for money. John hated to loose his loonies!
Every outing had it's memories; the corn deal that went wrong, the pinochle all nighter at John's house in London, the drive to Ohio to find a dry place to play golf, John would be in charge of the wood burning stove (John hated to be cold yet he lived in Canada) at Jack's house in Wellsville on a cool October night, Jack and John and I flew back from a golf outing in S. Carolina landed in Altoona Pa. and played pinochle at a bed-and -breakfast into the next day, the day John got his (3rd or 4th) hole-in-
one in Pa., the day John got a 13 on a golf hole and the ribbing that went with it, John often lamented that we remembered his 13 more than his hole-in-one.
That's because John was an excellent golfer, and a quiet and fierce competitor. John had a quick wit and impeccable timing. John will be missed and remembered on this side of the border, very much!
Our best to the family; George & Shelly Adams

I was hired at CAMI on November 7, 1988 and John was one of the first team members I met. I was hired as a Team Leader Chassis 5 engine sub assembly. John was always a good listener and ready to offer his support and wisdom to all of us as we were mostly in our early twenties and our first industrial manufacturing experience. I have the greatest respect and admiration for John.
Rest in peace, John
