Obituary of Mary Vandenboom

VANDENBOOM – Maria Antonia Theresia “Mary” Vandenboom (nee van den Bogaard) passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, April 30, 2017 in her 87th year. Devoted wife of Joe for 58 years. Loving Mom of Susan Vandenboom (Ralph Laird), Mary (Jos) Nolle, Joe (Marcy) Vandenboom. Wonderful Oma of Hilary and Mark Nolle, Spencer, Parker and Wil Vandenboom, and Fiona Laird. Survived by dear sisters ‘Truus’ Vanhoof and Joan Holtforster and by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Angels Parish on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1:00pm. Interment in Holy Angels Cemetery to follow. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, whose care and compassion were greatly appreciated. Much gratitude to all the dear friends and family who visited Mary during her illness.
