Obituary of Donald Bruce Brodie

Donald Bruce Brodie, 59, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack, May 18th, 2022, in his hometown of St. Thomas, Ontario. Bruce was born to parents Ann and James (Jim) Brodie, February 11th, 1963, the second youngest of six. In his youth, Bruce was a star athlete and had many accomplishments in both basketball and volleyball. He moved to Calgary in his early 20's, fell in love and quickly married his spouse of 20 years, Dinorah. Together they raised their two children James and Chantel. Bruce adored sports and spoke fondly of his memories growing up near Port. Stanley, always an avid hockey fan, Bruce loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, played soccer throughout his life, loved spending time with his two children, the family dogs, and working on his many hobbies; such as wood working, poetry and house flipping. A dedicated son to his parents in his later years, Bruce was always there to lend a helping hand and will be remembered lovingly and fondly by all those he helped. Bruce was predeceased by his dear sister Jane and is survived by his two loving parents Ann and Jim, his siblings Debbie (Mark), Dave (Lisa), Steve (Janet), and Sue (John), his two children James and Chantel, his ex-spouse Dinorah, his brother-in-law Leonard, and many, many nieces and nephews. A small private family gathering was held, cremation has taken place and his wish to be with his children will be fulfilled.
