Dear Aunt Marg and cousin Debbie so sorry to hear about your loss.What a wonderful person Uncle Merv was.I remember as a small boy Mom taking us up to see him at the planing mill when we were in town.I was always excited .Always Enjoyed our chats on the phone when we did talk and if we were at a function Such a wonderful loving man.He is now in his new home surrounded by the rest of his loved ones whom left before him.God bless you Uncle Merv may you rest in peace.Love Betty Emily and nephew Terry Nickason

Hello Marguerite & Debbie and family. I am Mervyn's 2nd cousin once removed, living in Kitchener ON [his great grandfather John & Mary Slatter were my GG Grandparents; I am G Granddaughter of Agnes "Aggie" Isabel (Slatter) Buck 1876-1963]. I am working on the family tree and am just now re-working the Slatter part of my tree--just got to Sidney & Gladys Young within last week and saw that Mervyn was the only one of their children still living. He lived a good long life and glad to hear he passed with little pain. Although we have never met, my mother Mern (Robinson) Barrette and G Grandma Aggie Buck often talked of the family as I was growing up. Grandma Buck lived with us off and on when we lived in Toronto & Mt. Forest ON. She wrote the Locks news in the Huntsville Forester for many years--lots of family history in those reports.
