Obituary of Mervin Arthur Connolly

CONNOLLY – Mervin Arthur of Dutton passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 72.  Beloved partner of Lois Nichol (nee Miles), the late Donna Marie (nee Shelton), and the late Pat Connolly (nee Gleason).  Loving father to David Connolly (Maureen), Laura Connolly, Nicole Allen, Corinne Connolly, Laurie Danowski (Carm Augustyn), Joseph Danowski (Shara Ross), Robert Danowski and Myles Nichol (Teresa). Merv will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Alex, Tiago, Tia, Jason (Jodie), Ava, Alex, Kaylee, Melissa, Adam and Cody. Merv is survived by his sister Lillian McBurney, sister-in-law Eleanor Connolly, brother-in-law Norm Mc Kee, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by siblings Ken & Muriel, Keith & Marjorie, Jim, Bev & Rosemary, Shirley Baird, and Florence. Merv will be greatly missed by his fur companion Penny.  Merv was a family man first and foremost, with a kind heart and great laugh. He was happiest when he was tinkering in his garage or spending time on his boat. Merv was a dedicated truck driver for over 38 years and was proud to receive the 13^th Truck News Owner/Operator award for travelling 5 million kilometers without a collision.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Dutton Community Centre, 1 Scotland St, Dutton, ON from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Interment of ashes at a later date.  If desired, donations to Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
