Obituary of Owen Christian Koopman

The Lord in His sovereign plan has taken to Himself our dear son and brother Owen Christian Koopman on January 12, 2023, at the age of 10 years. Though our hearts are heavy with sadness we rejoice with Owen that he now knows only eternal joy with Jesus. Owen was the beloved son of Scott & Jen Koopman and was adored by his 5 sisters: Jenna-Grace, his twin sister Mayelle, LilaJoy, IvyFaith, and EmmaRose. He will be missed by his loving grandparents Mary Vandoodewaard (the late Chris) and Pastor John & Sue Koopman as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Though Owen lived with many challenges, his joy in suffering was an example to us all and we look forward to worshiping God with him for all eternity. Visitation will take place at Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, January 15 from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 16 at 10:30 am at the Free Reformed Church of St. Thomas (145 St George Street, St. Thomas) following a private family interment.

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:10
