Obituary of Scott Thompson

THOMPSON, Scott Ivan of St. Thomas passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the age of 80. Scott is survived by his loving wife Julia Thompson (nee Zuria); his children Brian (Deb) Thompson of Shedden, Donna (Shannon) Maracle of St. Thomas, and Diane Thompson (Kent Phillips) of London; by his grandchildren William (Bethany) and Julianne Parker, Angela(Bob) and Brianna Thompson, Jillian and Dallas Maracle, and Sara, CJ, and Patrick Knight; by his sisters Margaret (William) MacVicar of St. Thomas, Vivian Anger of Belmont, Dorothy Beatty of Aylmer; by his sisters-in-law Roseann (Peter) Bouma of St. Thomas and Betty Zagwyn (Bill Brett) of Chilliwack, B.C.; and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Brenda Parker (2003), his sister Reta Pressey (2003) and his parents Ivan and Bertha Thompson. Scott worked at Clevite, United Tech, Essex Wire, and was the Owner/Operator of Thompson Lawn Care. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge #76, St. Thomas and Yarmouth Centre United Church. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.. The service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
