Obituary of Jo Speers

SPEERS - Joseph “Jo” Gordon passed away suddenly in London on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the age of 19. Beloved child of Catherina Speers (nee Ruyter) and Brian Speers. Loving partner Petra Donati. Jo is survived by sister Amy Speers of St. Thomas. Missed by her grandmother Vera Ruyter (late John); uncles and aunts John & Diane Ruyter, their children John (Sharon) and Candice; Gary Ruyter (Colleen), their children Ryan and Natasha; Marvin Ruyter, Linda Doan and Carol Hoekstra. Jo will be remembered by many great aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Predeceased by grandparents Helen and Gordon Speers. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. At the family’s request the service will be private. Interment in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Aylmer at a later date. If desired, donations to CMHA Elgin or Pets/Friends for Life would be appreciated.
