George hired me as a young man and gave me a wonderful opportunity in the world of golf. My passion for the game is there because of him. I will remember some of those early Sunday morning tee times at Shelburne G. C.

George was a man who loved his family, friends and a good game of golf. After retiring he and Margaret loved to travel to warm places so they joined the ranks of Canadians by becoming snow birds fleeing to Florida for a few winter free months, unfortunately, cruel fate cut that enjoyment short. We lost a fine, gentle man who will be missed greatly.

George holds a special place in our hearts. He will be missed by so many people. He made his mark in golf by being one of Ping Canada 's Veteran Fitters. As a mentor, a colleague, and as a father figure to all of us, we enjoyed working with him, At first encounter, we all struggled to understand his Scottish accent but as time went by we all grew accustomed. He taught us a lot about golf. We were always pleased to see George visiting us while in retirement to catch up on life in general. His visits brought back fun memories to everyone who knew him.
Our deepest condolences to the Neil family. George was an extraordinary man, and his loss will be felt by many.
