My Sister was truly one of kind. A woman who passionately gave all of herself for the good and well being of others.
She serviced the community of St Thomas and surrounding area with her skills at being a superb beautician, making people look and feel good about themselves.
If God was to give a special gift to people, he introduced you to Lois.
She is where she wants to be putting smiles on the faces of the ones that went before her.
Rest well, travel far.
You hold your own special and dear place in my heart always. Love you and miss you dearly

How to say goodbye to a friend like Lois? Lois was truly one in a billion. She was happy, kind, loving, generous, patient, forgiving, and courteous. I am thankful to God for the years of friendship we shared. Lois was my family, and through the years I always felt closer to her than to any of my sisters. I trusted her advice and admired her willingness to help anyone in need. Lois had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, loved and important. She had an immense talent for befriending others, no matter their background. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. She was a wonderful house guest; goofy, talkative, and highly competitive. She was just so much fun to be around. Her passing is a huge loss, one I'm still denying and not fully ready to accept. God has called his beautiful Lois home to rest. I wish her family love, peace, and comfort in this time of loss. I am comforted knowing Lois is no longer suffering with pain, anxiety or betrayal. Lois never said "Goodbye", she'd say "Bye for now." Bye for now Lois - see you later. Love you always and forever. - Angel Durante

I would like for you to know as I know you very well do is it Lois was a very special person. If you were fortunate enough to have lost as a friend, she was a friend 110%. She went all in. She was one of the strongest people I have ever met. Both inside and outside. Life should not have happened to her like it did, but it did, and she excepted it head on. I am proud and fortunate enough to say she was my friend and I will miss her dearly.
One of my most memorable times with her was she was keeping a lady on Trawood Village Drive and I forgotten what the ladies name was at the end of her life was coming very very close, and Lois called me and asked if I had a Bible when I please come over. I went over we bathed her, got her all tucked in, and she was most restless. She had had words with her Catholic priest, and she was very unsettled Lois and I told her all it takes to get to heaven is to believe that Jesus Christ is your savior not your works, or anything
else you just believe that he is the one and only God and he died on the cross for you and your sins. That night the lady excepted Christ is her savior and she died peacefully in her sleep. That lady found Christ that night because of Lois. We will all miss her greatly.

Gone From My Sight
Henry Van Dyke
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"
Gone from our sight, but forever on our hearts

In memory of Lois, our dear friend,
Paul and I were blessed to meet Lois when we needed someone to care for Paul’s mother 23 years ago. We found her name on the Hospice list of caretakers in our area of Houston. Over the years she also took care of other family members and friends of ours. Lois was easy for us to love because in her work with sick and dying people, she had a gift of caring for them that showed her kind, loving heart. We never hesitated to refer people to her because we knew they would get the best of care.
Lois was always
thoughtful and loving towards us. She stayed with us many times throughout the years, and
we became lifetime friends. When she could no longer come to Texas, we kept in touch by calling frequently on the phone.
Lois would look for ways to help us when she stayed with us, and since we had salad every night, she would often have a salad made when we came home from work. Paul said that he could picture her arriving in heaven, taking a quick look around, and then asking God if there isn’t something she could do to help out.
Some people are blessed by God with special gifts. One of the gifts that Lois had was the gift of service. She always seemed happier when she was able to help someone. She often helped strangers that she met along the way, and some wanted to keep in touch with the kind stranger that cared to help them. Lois wanted nothing in return. She would say, “Just pass it on”.
Words cannot convey the importance of someone’s life especially someone like Lois. What I would say to her now is we will miss you and always love you, never forget it.

Lois was the most loving, giving person. She selflessly did so much for others. She became part of our extended family when living in Kingwood as an extension of the Costa family, and fell in love with our young children. Soon after we moved to a ranch an hour from Houston when our children were still young, and she lived with us for a month to help us unpack and watch the children while we got settled. The way she loved our children was truly amazing, and they loved her so much. She will be forever in our hearts and memories, and we know she is in the loving arms of our Lord in heaven.
We are better people to have had Lois in our life and she will be so missed!
Rest in Peace,
Sarah Chisholm

Lois,
When I say your name your sparkling bright eyes and wonderful smile come to my mind’s eye. I can still hear your cheerful voice and visualize you in my parent’s home in Texas. My time spent with you was brief but I witnessed how amazing you were with my mom. You looked after her and provided her with the care and presence she needed while my dad was away overseas. There were times I knew my mom was challenging yet you were patient and extremely helpful. My mom loved you and I know my dad appreciated all that you did for them both.
Lois, you are a special woman with a kind heart, a beautiful soul. I hope you and my mom are reunited together that you are laughing, hugging and rejoicing in heaven. Walk in beauty Lois.
Love,
Diana

My Aunt Lois was a one-of-a-kind and lived a truly unique life. She had the strength and heart of a warrior, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Growing up, time spent with Aunt Lois was always anticipated with much excitment. A weekend visit to her house meant the abandonment of the rules of ours, and treatment befitting that of royalty. Her visits would fill our farmhouse with an abundance of fun and laughter leaving a spirit of humor long after she left.
Many can attest to her kindness and generous spirit. Shopping excursions, garage sales, trips to Texas, Aunt Lois would always return with something in hand she thought would fill a need or simply bring enjoyment to someone else. Gifts given to her by friends and family were so dearly treasured by her, each little gift had a story and Aunt Lois remembered them all.
As I walk through this season of sadness, my heart is thankful for her life and the traits she exemplified. Her immeasurable strength that brought her through her own darkest of days, her unparalleled work ethic, and her unfailing love she showered upon all of us.
I miss you already, Aunt Lo
God has you in his keeping now, and I have you forever in my heart
Love You Always

I first met Lois in April 2005 through Janice Costa, one my now deceased wife Theresa’s doctors. Theresa suffered from a disabling condition known as Wilsons Disease. We had spent every penny we had on doctors. I was given a job which would allow for much needed care for Theresa but with a hitch. The opportunity was in Mumbai India. I took the job and then went about finding a caregiver for my wife. Our daughter was well along in her pregnancy with our first grandchild, so a caregiver was a nobrainer. We needed someone of strong will to manage to help manage the day to day household jobs and finances in my absence. Enter Lois Davis. Lois hit it off with me, my daughter who lived in New Jersey and most importantly my skeptical wife. She managed Theresa very well. In fact was instrumental getting my wife to cut her eight from 215 pounds to 115 pounds. Lois handled my banking flawlessly. She drove the family TBird like a NASCAR driver even through flooded roads so Theresa would not miss a doctor appointment. Lois took care of our Yorkie as well as my prize saltwater fish aquarium. Lois did all of this while returning to Canada to satisfy country requirements. She did this from April 2005 until January 2006 when I returned to Kingwood Tejas. We kept in touch until fate would have us meet again. The unexpended untimely death of Theresa in March of 2008. The Lord had decided to call Theresa home. He thought she had suffered enough. We laid Teresa to rest in Clifton New Jersey in a crypt where I will join her when I leave this world which I have traveled extensively for 50 plus years of my life.
Lois I love you and always will. We will meet again someday someway. Jim

Today, we gather here not only to say goodbye but to celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who embodied the virtues of kindness, service, and unwavering dedication. Lois was more than a friend; she was a true exemplar of "service above self," someone whose motto was "work first, play second."
Her spirit mirrored that of a Canadian goalie, tirelessly defending the goals of those around her, never letting anything pass without giving her all for the team. Lois was the one you could always count on to tackle any obstacle in anyone's way, with a heart full of love for others.
As we bid farewell to Lois, let us remember the lessons she taught us through her life. The value of selflessness, the importance of hard work, and the beauty of a heart that loved unconditionally. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit lives on in the memories we share, and her legacy will forever inspire us to strive for the same level of dedication and love she so generously gave.
Lois, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering commitment to others will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Thank you for being a guiding light in our lives. Rest in peace, dear friend.
With heartfelt appreciation and respect,
David Chisholm

Sharing your love and sorrows.
(Tears and hugs)
In shadows deep, where life meets its end,
We ponder death, a truth we can't amend.
On Earth, it lingers, a somber, haunting grace,
A reminder to be kind, to love, embrace.
Perhaps it's here to teach, this fleeting breath,
To cherish differences, conquer fear of death.
In our shared humanity, we find our common thread,
We question faith, yet hope it's not misled.
For faith in faith, a paradox we face,
In the mystery of forever's boundless space.
Though we may not fathom, with each passing breath,
We strive to understand the dance of life and death.
David Chisholm
