Obituary of Stephen Glen Brooks

BROOKS – Stephen Glen of St Thomas passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the age of 72.  Beloved brother of J. Brian Brooks (Lila) of Orleans and Pam Huber (Mike) of St Thomas.  Stephen will be missed by nieces and nephews Chris Huber (Krista) and their daughters Lyndsey and Alexa Last, Reid Brooks (Sylvie) and their children Nathaniel and Madeline, Brooke Martin (Rorey) and their son Kayden.  Predeceased by his parents Harold and Ruth (nee Rowley) Brooks.  Stephen attended the W. Ross McDonald School (for the blind) in Brantford and completed high school at CECI.  Stephen graduated from Waterloo University and the University of Western Ontario.  Stephen was an avid runner having competed in many events around the world including the 1992 Para-Olympics in Barcelona winning bronze guided by Bud Willis of St Thomas to whom we are forever grateful.  Many thanks to the Kiwanis Club for years of assistance with Stephen.  Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  Cremation has taken place.  A graveside service will be held in the spring at St Thomas Cemetery, West Ave.  If desired, donations to the Kiwanis Club of St Thomas-Elgin would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
