Obituary of Gladys Tasker
TASKER, Gladys Mary (Grover), of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at her residence Caressant Care, Bonnie Place, St. Thomas on September 1, 2016 in her 100th year. Beloved mother of Jack A. Tasker and his wife Jane Ann of Port Stanley, and the late Kay Wonnacott (2001) and her husband Terry Rock. Dear wife of the late Jack Tasker (1987). Predeceased by her parents Lucy and Wentworth Grover, sister Joyce Gall and brother Dale Grover. Gladys is survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Gladys was born and raised in Chatham and worked as a ward clerk at Chatham General Hospital and at Southwestern Regional Center. She and her husband worked for Canada Post at the Post Office in Oldcastle and did the rural mail delivery as well. They also ran a restaurant in Oldcastle and served many railway workers and local farmers. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service and internment officiated by Rev.Susan Jolley will be held at a later date at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, Ontario. If desired, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Chatham Ontario; Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas Ontario or the charity of your choice. Cremation with Interment
