Obituary of Dianne Gaudet Sutherland

GAUDET, Dianne (nee Sutherland) - Beloved partner and best friend to André Gaudet for 35 years. Loving mother and greatest fan of her four children, Shawn, Amber, Sarah (Nevin MacQueen) and Andra. Dianne Sutherland Gaudet passed peacefully with her family’s love around her in the early hours of Monday, July 25th 2016. We take comfort in the solace that her pain is over and that her greatest wish to be a grandmother was realized this past fall with the birth of her beloved grandson Callum Sutherland MacQueen. A fighter through life and to the end, she will be greatly missed by her sister Tracey and her husband Tom Morse, brothers Chris (Linda) and Ed (Cheryl), mother Lorraine Bradt (Ed), father Bill Sutherland (Mary), and a large extended circle of family. Predeceased by her first husband Tom Matthews in 1980, Dianne took great measures to ensure her and children's bond remained connected to their family, who will also miss her immeasurably. She was a determined soul with unparalleled courage through many life challenges, she was a role model for all those that knew her and a great comfort for many in times of need. A friend of many both near and far, she will be dearly missed by her lifelong best friend JoAnne Mullen and cousin Brenda Sutherland Knights. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, July 28th, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Dianne’s life will be celebrated on Friday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Donations in her memory may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre.
