Obituary of Terry Sheridan

SHERIDAN- Terence Joseph “Terry” of St. Thomas passed away surrounded by his family at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the age of 82.  Terry is survived by his beloved wife Jean (nee Lyons); by his loving children Anne Sheridan (John Moore), Chris Sheridan (Tracy Robinson), and Jeff (Heather) Sheridan; by his grandchildren Estelle Moore and her family; Ella Sheridan (Kieran Kelly), Kaelin Sheridan, Carter (Sierra) Sheridan, and Rachael Sheridan (Mac Breed); by his siblings Jim Sheridan, Bernie (Brenda) Sheridan, Rita Morgan (late Fra), and Theresa Eaton; and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Predeceased by his sisters Rosemary (Pat) Kevany and Maureen Sheridan, and by his brother Vince (Judy) Sheridan.  Terry was born in London, Ontario to the late James and Annie Sheridan.  He worked in industrial sales at Singer Controls and Kilbank Screw Machines and enjoyed playing sports including hockey, baseball, and attending the many games of his children and grandchildren. He played hockey up to the age of 81 and was still in fine form. Music was an important part of his life, both listening, singing and playing keyboard. He enjoyed many years in a barber shop quartet, and a lifetime love of celtic music. A dedicated volunteer, he helped with community events, fundraising through the Knights of Columbus, the annual Salvation Army kettle drive and excelled in his role as the onsite manger at the world head quarters of The Sheridan Band. He most valued connection to family and community and will be dearly missed.  Cremation has taken place and a private family interment of ashes will be held in Holy Angels Cemetery.  A celebration of Terry’s life will take place on October 20th, 2024 from  2:00 - 6:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus, 265 Wellington Street in St. Thomas.  If desired, donations to STEGH (St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital) would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St Thomas, ON (519-631-0570).  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
