Obituary of Robert Brown

Brown, Robert (Bob) William On Sunday December 6, 2015 our beloved father, friend and mentor suddenly left this world to join his wife of 61 years Beverlea. There is comfort in his passing knowing that Dad and Mom are now together again. Married for 61 years, but together since kindergarten their love withstood the test of time and was an inspiration and an example to all of us. Dad was a quiet man but delivered a powerful and influential presences to those who knew him. He was an unwavering rock to many, as well as a gentle and caring man. He bestowed a mentoring and a straight shooter approach with many of his colleagues on the city fire department until his retirement. Where after retirement he worked tirelessly alongside his son Mark farming on the Dexter Line. Thank you Dad for your ability understand, listen and be the best father and friend one could ever have. You will be extremely missed but will never be forgotten. Beloved husband of the late Beverlea Brown (nee Sullivan) (2014). Father to sons Mark Brown of Port Stanley and Michael Brown of Vancouver and to daughter Susan Brown of St. Thomas. Brother-in-law to Kathy and Jim Lumley of St. Thomas. Grandfather to Caiti Casey of Amherstburg, Sam Brown and Keeghan Brown of Port Stanley. Sadly missed by 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and sons and daughters in law. Predeceased by his father and mother Robert and Elizabeth Brown of St. Thomas, mother and father-in-law Mona and Jack Sullivan of St. Thomas. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Elmdale Cemetery.
