Obituary of Marilyn Alberta McKinnon

McKINNON- Marilyn Alberta McKinnon (nee Sturgis) passed away peacefully with her three daughters by her side at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer on Sunday, November 15, 2015 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Vincent McKinnon (2012). She is survived and dearly missed by her children Debbie (Rick) LeBlanc, Linda (Rob) Creed and Marianne (Charles) Kirby; by her grandchildren Joseph Ashton (Jackie Anstee), Richelle LeBlanc, Ashley Brunelle, Alicia Robilliard (Brandon Uttley), Miranda Kirby (Jesse Tanguay), Chantal Kirby (Davey Nickel) and Todd Kirby; by her great grandchildren Charlie Rae Kirby and Laila Kirby-Nickel; her sister Carol Ann (Robert) Hosie; her brothers and sisters-in-law Anna (late James) McKinnon, James (Betty) Ryan, Joseph (Trudy) McKinnon; and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles (Angelina) Sturgis; her sister-in-law Madeline McKinnon and brother-in-law Jack McKinnon. Marilyn retired as a Secretary for Assumption School in Aylmer. In her spare time she was involved with the Town of Aylmer, Figure Skating, the Parks and Recreation Program and was treasurer for the Cherry Street Organization. Marilyn was very active and made a wonderful network of friends in Bonita Springs, Florida, where she and Donald vacationed in the winter for over 25 years. Cremation has taken place. A mass to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Aylmer on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:45 am. A private interment of ashes to follow in Aylmer cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). If desired, donations to VON-Elgin or Pets Friends For Life would be appreciated.
