Obituary of Robert Rutter
RUTTER-Robert “Bob” Rutter passed away at Elgin Manor on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in his 83rd year. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Isobel; his children Cyndi (Ken) Hornby of St. Thomas, Luanne Rutter (Dave) of St. Thomas, Murray (Beryl) Baker of Barrie and Debbie Henning of St. Thomas; by his grandchildren Jessica Hornby (Jim) of St. Thomas, Jaime and Mark Hornby of St. Thomas, Emily Yates (Mike) and Hollie Yates (Reggie) of St. Thomas, Todd Baker of Barrie, Jeff Baker (Keri) of Barrie and Brett Henning (Ashley) of St. Thomas; 5 great grandchildren; his brother Jim Rutter (Joy) of Port Rowan; nieces Jill (Steve) Marshall of St. Thomas and Jennifer (Scott) Creed of Port Rowan; and by many brothers and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his parents Judd and Sylvia Rutter and grandson baby Derek Robert Henning (1981). Bob was the Maintenance Supervisor at Valleyview before retirement, a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited, past president of the St. Thomas Gun Club and an avid outdoorsman . Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas would be appreciated.
