Obituary of Shirley Rose Stafford

Obituary STAFFORD- Shirley Rose (nee Medler) of St. Thomas was Promoted to Glory on Monday, November 4, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Ross Stafford (1996). Shirley is survived by her loving daughter Heather (Jeff) Sheridan and their children Carter and Rachael of St. Thomas and son David and his children Michael and Devon. She was a cherished Aunt, sister-in-law and friend to so many. Predeceased by her father, two sisters and six brothers. Shirley was born in Milltown, New Brunswick and lived from one end of the country to the other throughout her life, before settling down with Ross in St. Thomas. She worked as a Nurse at Grace Hospital in Toronto and Memorial Hospital in St. Thomas. She was a proud member of the Salvation Army and served the Lord through many ministries within the church. She was always excited when it was time to volunteer at the Christmas Kettles and in fact, mentioned last week that she hoped to do it again this year. A memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel 380 Elm Street, St. Thomas on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the Citadel from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A private interment of ashes will take place in McArthur Cemetery on a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Please consider making a donation to the Salvation Army Kettle Drive in memory of Shirley.
