Obituary of Ross Milton Abbey

ABBEY - Ross Milton Abbey of St. Thomas, Ont. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the age of 70. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane (nee Agar). Loving father of Melanie Abbey (Mike VanderMolen), Tracy (Derek) Oprenchok, Todd (Julie) Hatch, Sara (Rob) Velestuk, and Tim Abbey all of St. Thomas. Proud Papa of Dustin and Bradley, Hunter and Dylan, Abbey and Jack, Zephyr, Zoe and Huxley. Ross will be missed by his brother Bud (Catherine) Abbey of Windsor, and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Gerry Abbey and Gary Abbey. Ross loved his family very much and was a legendary storyteller to all. He was a prideful man, and left this place greater than he found it. He had worked for A & P for 40 years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. A private gathering to celebrate Ross’ life, will take place at a later date. Special thanks to our care givers from the London Regional Cancer Center, STEGH, and our local CCAC. If desired, donations to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
