Obituary of John Edward Roberts

ROBERTS- John Edward Roberts of Valleyview Home in St. Thomas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in his 97th year. He is survived by his son John (Pattie) Roberts of St. Thomas; his daughter Margaret (Stan) Johnson of Guelph; by his grandchildren Leslie (Dave) Vandenbrink of Sparta, Jennifer (Sean) McMahon of Kitchener, Jason (Lee-Anne) Herbert of Cambridge, and Terri-Lynn (Jeff) Eberle of Glencoe; by nine great grandchildren; his sister Janet (the late John) Toth of London; sister-in-law Jean (late Robert) Walsh of London; and by many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dear wife Margaret (2015). John had retired from Thermo-Disc as plant manager, was a member of the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club, and thoroughly enjoyed travelling. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. The funeral service will take place in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment in Union Cemetery. If desired, donations to Valleyview Auxiliary would be appreciated.
