Obituary of Robert Louis Cecol

CECOL - Robert Louis of St. Thomas, formerly of Kirkland Lake, Ontario passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on August 16, 2015 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Beverley Cecol (nee Nelson). Loving father of Christopher (Helen) Cecol and ‘Nono’ of Andrew and Joshua all of Florida. Stepfather of David Wilson of Wisconsin, and Alanna (Bill) Vanderberg of St. Thomas; grandfather of Alicia Wilson of Wisconsin and Madisson Vanderberg of St. Thomas; cherished brother of Ethel (David) Payne of Oregon; missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lino and Josie Cecol. Robert attended Holy Name Catholic School in Kirkland Lake and Scholar Hall in North Bay. He was an Alter Boy at The Holy Name Parish. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2748 for 49 years. He also loved to play the drums in a dance band. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Chapel at 2:00pm. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
