Obituary of James McAllister Nugent
NUGENT - James McAllister Nugent of St. Thomas passed away suddenly on June 3, 2015 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Dianne Nugent (nee Humphrey). Jim is survived by children Scott (Michelle) Nugent of St. Thomas and Kelly Nugent (Joe Daabous) of Ilderton; grandchildren Aidan Nugent, Jordan Daabous, Ben Daabous, and Maddie Daabous; sister Edna (Jimmy) Brown of Scotland; mother-in-law Doris Humphrey of Lucknow; brother-in-law George (Marjorie) Humphrey of Lucknow; sister-in-law Sandra (Barry) Haldenby of Holyrood; and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents David and Ressie Nugent, and his brother Gordon Nugent. He had retired as Grand Lodge Representative for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, in Toronto. Jim was also a past board member of STEGH, United Way, Elgin Labour Temple, and the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:30pm. Private Interment of ashes at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
