Obituary of Margaret Roberts

ROBERTS- Margaret Duncan Roberts (nee Harper) of Valleyview passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in her 97th year. She is survived by her loving husband John; her son John (Pattie) Roberts of St. Thomas; her daughter Margaret (Stan) Johnson of Guelph; by her grandchildren Leslie (Dave) Vandenbrink of Sparta, Jennifer (Sean) McMahon of Kitchener, Jason (Lee-Anne) Herbert of Cambridge, and Terri-Lynn (Jeff) Eberle of Glencoe; by nine great grandchildren; her sister Jean (late Robert) Walch of London; sister-in-law Ruth Harper; brother-in-law Jack Riddler; and by many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Tom and Bill Harper, and sisters Betty Campbell and Lou Riddler. Margaret was a member of New Vision Community Church, the Valleyview Auxiliary, S.T.E.G.H. Auxiliary, and also enjoyed volunteering at the old Friendship School (now known as the association Community Living Elgin). Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Interment in Union Cemetery. If desired, donations to Valleyview Auxiliary would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
