Obituary of Betty Milligan

MILLIGAN [Batty], Betty Marie - At Bobier Villa, Dutton, Ont. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, with her son Terry at her side, in her 89th year, Mom passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She will always be loved and remembered by her son Terry Batty. Mom lived life her way, a strong and determined woman who overcame many obstacles along life’s way, and battled her many illnesses with quiet acceptance. She embraced a quiet understanding of God’s love, and was loved by everyone whose life she touched. In years past, she enjoyed cooking and baking, providing fabulous meals for family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Roy, her parents William and Alice, brother Robert Batty, sisters Marguerite Rickwood, Dorothy Batty and Ruth Lacroix. Also survived by her husband’s children, Lalia and Glen. Betty was a long-time employee of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on the housekeeping staff. She was also a member of the Parkinson’s Support Group. Special thanks to the staff at Bobier Villa for their wonderful care and kindness to Mom over the past few years, and to her nieces Ruth and Marjory for their faithful visits. Also to Don and Marg MacKenzie for always being there to help. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00pm The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 2:00pm. Interment in Elmdale Cemetery. If desired, donations to Pets Friends For Life St. Thomas would be appreciated.
