Obituary of Barbara Langley

LANGLEY - On December 30, 2014 one of God’s earthbound angels was called home. Barbara M. Langley died peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home. Born in Toronto, she lived a full life, giving freely of her time and talent to help others, as an elementary school teacher and librarian, co-owner of a Vermont ski lodge, and an all-round good person. A member of First United Church, active in the community as a volunteer. She leaves behind a grieving family. Her husband of almost 65 years “Gus”, a son Michael and wife Debbie, and daughter Patricia, who loved, cherished and will sorely miss her. Other family members are a granddaughter Jacqueline and husband John McKenzie and great granddaughter Evelyn of Cambridge, also sister Patricia Barrett of London. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Gannon of Toronto and granddaughter Jillian Langley of St. Thomas. We did not want to see her go, and will miss her dearly, but God has called her to Him. “Goodbye sweetheart. You have gone to a better place and someday we will be together again.” A memorial service will be held at First United Church, St. Thomas on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at First United Church, 1 hour prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).
