Obituary of Bert Hugh Langley

Obituary LANGLEY - Bert Hugh “Gus” Langley died peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Mabel Langley (nee Gannon) (2014). Gus is survived by his son Michael and his wife Debbie of St. Thomas, and his daughter Patricia of Owen Sound, who loved, cherished and will miss him. Other family members are a granddaughter Jacqueline and her husband John McKenzie and great granddaughter Evelyn of Cambridge; his brother James and his wife Audrey Langley; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Ronald (Mary) Langley, granddaughter Jillian Langley, and sister-in-law Patricia Barrett. Gus was born in St. Thomas to the late George and Mabel Langley. He was a member of First United Church and was the former owner/operator of Shield Ski Lodge in Vermont. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, curling, skiing and spending time with his family. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 pm, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm.
