Obituary of Robert Hurst
HURST- After a courageous battle with cancer, Robert “Bob” Hurst passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the age of 74. Bob is survived by his wife Marie Hurst (nee Schenk); his daughters Keri (Mark) Johnson of Guelph and their children Taylor and Braden; Kim (Todd) Richardson of Dundas and their children Lauren, Brittany and Kaitlyn; Jennie Piovesan (Dan Goncalves) of London and their children Olivia, Ben and Sophie; Paula Piovesan (Adam Boyle) of Kanata and his children Ava and Connor; by his sister Dawn (late Ken) Gilby of Brampton and her daughters Karla (Ed) Rajca, Tracy (Chris) McDonagh and their families; and by his aunt, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his parents Ed and Millie Hurst. Bob worked as a buyer for the Waterloo Board of Education. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm, where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 1:30 pm. If desired, donations to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Complex Care Unit at S.T.E.G.H. for their care and compassion shown to Bob and his family during his illness. Visitation
