Obituary of Robert Paul

PAUL - Robert “Rob” Paul passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the age of 67. Rob is survived by his loving spouse Edna Sayers of Port Stanley; his children Shawn Paul (Kim Scott) of St. Thomas, Shannon Belvel of St. Thomas, Shane Sayers of London, his daughter-in-law Connie Sayers of St. Thomas; grandchildren Monica, Michael, Mikayla, Tristan, Richard, Gabrielle, Michelle, Julia, Jenna, and Jamie; his great grandson Vincent Sayers; siblings Heather (Peter) Budway of Florida; and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Lillian Paul and by his son Brett Sayers (2009). Rob retired from A. Schulman Canada Ltd., St. Thomas. He had also worked at Canron Limited, St. Thomas and Stan’s Marina in Port Stanley. In his spare time he built racecars and loved racing at Wonderland Speedway. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Interment of ashes will take place in Elmdale Cemetery on a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
