Obituary of Ian H. MacInnes

MacInnes - Ian Hugh MacInnes passed away at his residence on March 22, 2014 at the age of 78. Ian was born in Windsor, the son of the late John and Katie MacInnes. After a career as a former police officer with the Leamington police force and Military Policeman with the NATO forces in Laar, Germany and Cyprus, Greece, Ian retired from the federal government, Unemployment Insurance Division. Ian’s interests were many and included the Liberal Party, Scottish Club and the former Panaroma Multicultural Festival, London City Press Club and for many years umpired baseball throughout the London area. Acting was a passion with Ian, being involved with the London Community Players and professionally in the Final 24 series, as well as numerous commercials. Ian will be fondly remembered by Sharon Clarke of Port Stanley and her children Genevieve, Rachale and Jackie Cavanagh; his daughter Katherine (Brad) Frederick, four grand children and his son Murray of Leamington; his sisters Katherine (Vern, deceased) Thompson, Margaret (David) Kechnie all of Sudbury, Peggy Ann (Paul) Bradshaw of Windsor and by his brother Angus (Kate) MacInnes of Edinburgh, Scotland and numerous nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place; a private internment of the ashes will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). If desired donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or CMHA/PTSD are sincerely appreciated. Cremation Cremation has taken place.
