Obituary of Mervin Barrett

BARRETT- Mervin Henry Barrett passed away at home on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the age of 69. Merv is survived by his loving wife Janice Barrett (nee) Moore. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Jennifer (Dan) Barrett-Hirashima of Guelph; his son Chad (Carrie) Barrett and their children Owen and Clementine of Acton; by his brother Brock (Janet) Barrett of St. Thomas; sisters-in-law Arlene (Cliff) Pellett of Perth and Valerie (Jim) Bugg of St. Thomas; his brother-in-law Sean Moore of Owen Sound; and by many nieces and nephews. Merv was born in St. Thomas, the son of the late Merton and Phyllis Barrett. He worked as the Nurse’s Manager at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital. In his spare time, Merv acted as Secretary for Pets Friends For Life; he was an avid bowler and loved fishing. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment of ashes in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery on a later date. If desired, donations to Pets Friends For Life would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm..
