Obituary of Nancy Ann Caldwell

CALDWELL, Nancy Ann - of Port Stanley, born on July 4, 1950, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long and valiant battle with breast cancer at STEGH on July 5, 2013 in her 64th year . She is survived by her best friend and soul mate Paul Caldwell. Dear mother of Tammy (Scott) Ritchie, and John (Jamie) Caldwell. Cherished Grandma of Jacob, Ryley, Ella, and unborn Carter. Beloved sister of Linda (Gary) Stafford, Judy Heil, Rosemary (George) MacKenzie, Kathleen (Russ) Weitzel, Douglas Ryland and Barbara Ryland. Loved sister-in-law of Jean Smith, Robert (Rebecca) Caldwell, Bette (Ron) Harvey, Peter (Katherine) Caldwell, Nancy (John) Dietz and Lester (Louise) Caldwell. Nancy was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her numerous friends including her special four-legged friend "Blue". Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Anne Ryland, mother and father-in-law Pete and Bessie Caldwell, brothers-in-law Gerald Caldwell, Ray Smith, and sister-in-law Shirley McAteer. Nancy worked for many years at the LCBO and Presstran. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11:00am. Interment in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Nancy’s wishes, donations to the Port Stanley Legion or the Port Stanley Food Bank would be appreciated. Special thank you to Dr. Goodhue, Dr. Donahue & the Chemo Unit, Dr. Evans, Dr. Hug & the 4th floor nurses, VON nurses Kathy & Cindy, and Carolyn for the excellent care they provided.
