Obituary of Shirley Ewanick
EWANICK- It is with great sadness, that the family announces the passing of Shirley Ewanick (nee Perry) in her 89th year on Saturday, April 7, 2012. Beloved wife of the late William Ewanick (1981). Shirley is survived by her son John (Norma) Ewanick of St. Thomas and their children Bill, Matt and Nick; her daughter Connie (Kevin) Blyde of Port Stanley and her daughter Karlie Laur; sister Helen Carter of Lambeth; special niece Marnie Carter of Lambeth; brother-in-law George (Barb) Ewanick of Toronto; sisters-in-law Evelyn Ewanick of Stoney Creek, and Vicie (Dick) Hoffman of Hamilton; and by her many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a member of Central United Church, where she sang in the choir for over 20 years, and was actively involved in the Wo-He-Lo Group. She was a past volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Caring Cupboard, Valleyview Tuck Shop, & the Ontario Genealogy Society. Shirley’s passion for genealogy resulted in the publishing of 3 books and doing extensive work on several others. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Central United Church 135 Wellington Street, St. Thomas on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Central United Church, Inn Out of the Cold, or The Caring Cupboard would be appreciated. Visitation
