Obituary of Willem Jan Van Oene

Obituary VAN OENE- Willem Jan “Bill” of St. Thomas was called home to his Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in his 89th year. Bill is survived by his loving wife Christine Van Oene (nee Pennings); by his children John Van Oene (Stacy Steen) of Grand Rapids, Martin Van Oene of Grimsby, and Audrey Van Oene (Erik Kooyer) of Grand Rapids; by his grandchildren Kaile (Ben) Videtich and their children Silas and Maelin all of San Francisco, Luke Van Oene of Chicago, and Zeke, Calvin and Pieter Kooyer all of Grand Rapids; by his sister Wil (late Henk) Voerman; by his siblings-in-law Hans (late Guus) Rook, Henk (Gerda) Pennings, Jan (late Hennie) Pennings, Wilma (late Jack) De Jong, Bertha (late Fred) De Jong, John (Mary) Pennings, Wil (Sara) Pennings, Gary (Ineke) Pennings, and Albert (Annette) Pennings; and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Alie Steyn and brother-in-law Ben Pennings. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church 320 Elm Street, St. Thomas on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
