I had the pleasure of working very closely with Rob as a member of the City Management Team and the Emergency Management Committee to name but two. I always had the utmost respect for Rob's professionalism and how he handled himself and the affairs of the City. He was a very kind, considerate, and genuine human being. Although we often dealt with serious business, there was always time for a smile, a bit of humour, and the enjoyment of each other's company. We would often discuss our families, and I know he was immensely proud of his.. I am at a loss for words but wanted to express how truly sorry I am for your loss. I am shocked and saddened by Rob's passing. I first met Rob as he enrolled in one of my business classes. His specific goal was to prepare himself with the leadership skills to lead the local Fire Service. He was a positive influence in the class; had an infectious laugh and demonstrated his easy ability to lead. He spoke lovingly about his family and we all had great respect for him. I met Rob occasionally in the years since and, in true Rob fashion, he greeted me warmly and by name. The community has lost one of its champions; I am so sorry for the family he left behind and for the rest of us whose lives are a little bit richer for knowing him.
