Brother in Law, Doug posted a condolence
As my boys, Ryan and Brandon will attest, "Here comes uncle Jim", was always good news. Jim would often come out to the shop. Sometimes to lend a hand or sometimes to receive one but always to brighten our day. Whether sighting in a rifle, shooting a few clays, throwing a few darts washing a truck or fixing whatever needed fixing, it was sure to have a few laughs thrown into the mix. Almost always a good debate over the talents of the "O's and The Jays. Jim, you will always be counted among the Best Brothers in Law and Uncles. Jim, our good friend, You will be missed.

Joan and Family. We are sadden with the loss of Jim. I had a lot of good times and laughs with my Brother, and this is what I will hold close and dear. I will remember his wit and dry humour as well. Rest well my Brother.

I can remember a bright winter day back at the woods behind our farm. Uncle Jim was cutting up logs with his chainsaw. When I arrived, he put the chainsaw down, flexed his bicep and pointed emphatically to it with his other hand. Then, he shouted, "STEP UP THERE AND TELL ME WHEN YER ON!"
I thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever heard. I still sometimes use that line today...
You always made us laugh, Uncle Jim. You will be missed.

it is with great sadness that I write about a friend I have known for 27 years through Buck Lake Camp, someone I enjoyed talking with and spending time with, moving wood , being out in the bush. I am glad to have known Jim and very glad we talked two weeks ago about life and about death. I know Jim is safe and sound and I know we all miss him, love you buddy.

Joan and Family,
I wanted to express my deepest heartfelt condolences on Jim's passing.. As a 24 year veteran of Buck lake I have come to regard Jim as a good friend. He will be sadly missed. At present I am out of the country but would have been there otherwise this Saturday to honour and celebrate his life.

Joan & family - please accept my deepest condolences on Jim's passing. Jim meant so much to so many outside his family. The Buck Lake Family will ever remember is hard work, dedication and friendship. As one of the newer members of Buck Lake, Jim always did his utmost to guide me and other new members into the group.
I hope to see you Saturday. You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Jim McKane

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Jim?
A: Jim never liked to listen to gossip, he would stop anyone saying that’s got nothing to do with me and I don’t want to hear it.
