IT'S WITH HEAVY HEART THAT I SEND OUR CONDOLENCES TO SHARON STEPHANIE,PHIL AND ALL HIS GRANDKIDS.
SHARON IT HAS TAKEN A LONG TIME FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU .IT'S REALLY HARD,OWEN HAS BEEN OF MUCH COMFORT TO ME OVER THE YEARS HE WAS AN AWESOME BROTHER.HE WAS LOVING,TENDER
HEARTED.HE WAS KIND,THOUGHTFUL,A SENSE OF HUMOUR,ALWAYS READY TO HELP WHENEVER AND WHERE EVER
HE WAS NEEDED..HE WAS A JOY TO BE AROUND AND I LOVED TO GET TOGETHER WITH FAMILY,HE ALWAYS MADE THE DAY. BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT WAS ALWAYS EVIDENT TO ALL WAS HIS LOVE AND COMMITMENT TO GOD. ONE OF THE PASTOR SAID : " I LOVED TO HEAR THE SALVATION ARMY PASTOR FROM PARK ST. ON THE RADIO.HE IS SO GOOD. YOU CAN HEAR THE BROKENESS IN HIS VOICE AND I WAS SO PROUD TO SAY TO HIM"" THATS MY BROTHER!!! I HAD A PERSON COME TO OUR DOOR ONE MORNING LOOKING FOR AN APT. FOR HIS DAUGHTER AND SOMEHOW OWEN" NAME CAME UP IN THE CONVERSATION AND HE QUICKLY SAID "NOW THERE 'S A MAN WHO LIVES WHAT HE PREACHES""" AND AGAIN I SAID HE'S MY BROTHER!!! ,HE REALLY GOOD. ..IT WAS EVIDENT TO ALL WHO MET HIM THAT HE WAS LOVING CARING AND VERY SPIRTUAL MAN.HE TOLD ME ONCE THAT HE WOULD NEVER ASK ANYONE IN HIS CORPS TO DO SOMETHING UNLESS HE HAD ALREADY DONE IT HIMSELF.
WHEN WE LOST OUR GRANDDAUGHTER, HE CAME HOME FROM HALIFAX EVEN THOUGH WE DINT ASK HIM TO COME AND AFTER THE FUNERAL JOANNE SAID " MOM I DON'T KNOW HOW I WOULD HAVE MADE THROUGH ALL OF THIS IF IT WASN'T FOR UNCLE OWEN. HE SEEM TO KNOW THE MOMENTS THAT I NEEDED HIM BECAUSE HE WOULD APPEAR RIGHT BESIDE ME .I DIDN'T NEED TO TO HAVE TO ASK BECAUSE AT THE MOMENT I NEEDED HIM HE WAS THERE.HE HAD SO MUCH LOVE AND COMPASSION , IT WAS EASY TO SEE GOD HAD CALLED HIM TO SERVICE. HE NEVER HAD THINGS EASY GROWING UP BUT THE MAN HE BECAME WAS TRULY GREAT. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT HIS GOODNESS BUT YOU ALL KNOW AND SHARED.HE WAS A GOOD HUSBAND AND FATHER AND HE WAS A GREAT GRANDFATHER TOO. I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO HELP SHARE YOUR GRIEF BUT I SAW DURING HIS FUNERAL HOW HE HAD TOUCHED EVERY LIFE. I KNOW YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL HAVE A
DIFFICULTY AND I KNOW GOD WILL HOLD YOU ALL IN THE CENTER OF HIS WILL .ENJOY THE MEMORIES WE ALL HAVE SO MANY OF HIM. HE WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN OUR HEARTS, TAKE CARE OF YOUR SELVES AND KNOW WE ARE ALL THINKING AND PRAYING FOR YOU ALWAYS. LOVE BONZIE AND CARL XOXOXOXO WE ARE JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY IF YOU NEED US.

Dear Sharon, Family and Friends,
Our heartfelt condolences to you and your wonderful families. We cherish the memories of the years and give the Lord thanks and praise for your faithful and successful ministries. Owen was a very sincere, consistent and committed minister of the Gospel. His journey of faith and Christian influences impacted countless thousands of people for the Lord from coast to coast. We believe to be ‘absent from the body....present with the Lord’. Servant of God....Well done. May the strengthening and sustaining grace of our Lord be with every member of the family in your continued journey of life. Blessings,

Dear Sharon, Stephanie, Phill, and family, we are so sorry for Owen’s passing. We have some great memories of Owen. A couple that sticks in my mind is in Peggy’s cove when him and David pretend to climb up the mountain and the other is in Ontario when him and David was swinging our 2 year old Brittany when they were walking making her laugh all out. I wish we could be there to say our final goodbye to Own but unfortunately that isn’t possible due to distance. My heart breaks for you and the family, I hope God gives you the strength and comfort to carry out the coming days. Love and condolences from Lucy and Brittany Janes

We remember well when you left Labrador City to go to The Salvation Army Training College. What a beautiful couple you were, truly called by God for full time ministry. You left with your hand in God’s hand saying “I’ll go in the strength of the Lord in paths He has marked for my feet….” You have been both faithful to your calling, You have touched many lives as you Proclaimed the Good News of the Gospel, and now Owen has received his Promotion to Glory and heard Well Done thou good and faithful servant!
Sharon, we pray that as you travel this path without Owen that God’s arms of love and His comforting presence would surround you in a very real and wonderful way! Praying for you and your family, God bless each one!

Dear Sharon, Stephanie and extended family
Please accept our condolences on the PTG of Owen. Our paths crossed a few times during our years of service in TSA. My memory of Owen was the ever present twinkle in his eye, and being ever ready to share a story and a laugh. His love for people, the ministry and for God was evident. May you and your extended family experience the love, the peace and the assurance of Jesus in these difficult days. May the God of all comfort bring to you this comfort by his Holy Spirit and in the presence of loved ones. Take care;

We extend our love and thoughts at this time to Sharon and the family. We give God thanks for Owen's life and influence. A faithful Officer of The Salvation Army and a kind, compassionate individual who was fun to be around. As a preacher of the gospel he believed to "die is gain" absence from the body and be present with the Lord. This is Our hope and faith of someday we meet again in that Heavenly kingdom God has prepared for his children.
Well done Owen. Enter into the joy of your Lord!
God comfort and sustain you all.
