Obituary of Sheena Strong

Please share a memory of Sheena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On September 9, 2023, Sheena Strong passed away at 28 years of age following a lengthy illness and battle with addictions which resulted in an accidental overdose. She leaves behind her mother Beth Kewley and father Ken Strong, who are both heartbroken, and the best brother in the world, Will Strong. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Herb and Sheena Kewley and Ed and Cordelia Strong as well as her bestie Jasmine. Sheena will be missed by Aunts and Uncles Ted and Cheryl Kewley, Herb Kewley and Patti Heideman, Noel and Sara Strong, Tena (and the late Gary) Strong, Patricia (and the late Bill) Strong and Ellen and Matt Dillard as well as her cousins Kristin, Edward, Steven, Wesley, Renee, Amy, Evan, Angie, Corey, Brett, Sabrina, April and Connor. And lastly, her beloved pets Collie, Mittens and Biggie.

Sheena fought to overcome her illness and was grateful for the support of all that helped her along her difficult journey. She recently achieved four months of sobriety wherein her gorgeous eyes and smile sparkled and her determination, love of life, confidence and optimism blossomed before she succumbed one last time to her disease.

Sheena Beena loved reading, walks, road trips, theatre, colouring, shoes, hockey fights, Starbucks and Chapters. For Sheena, nothing compared to the taste of pumpkin spice or the smell of the pages of a new book. Sheena is not defined by her addictions and her true self essence will be missed so very, very much.

Sheena registered with the Trillium Gift of Life Network and in accordance with her wishes, her organ donations will assist others facing health challenges.

Cremation has taken place.  Public visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.  A private memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, 2023.  Interment of ashes will take place in Christ Anglican Church Cemetery-Port Stanley on a later date.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to Empathy House of Recovery (Ottawa).  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
