The Ladies Society in 2002 of The Junction Church (formerly the First Christian Reformed Church): These ladies studied God’s Word once a week and enjoyed serving the Lord together in various ways: Front row from L to R is my mom Anna Pieters, Dientje Jansen, Helen Neef, Hilda DeVries, Back row Mar Doelman, Wilhelmina VanderGeest, Elly DeVries, Betty Kielstra, Ann VanHelvoort, and Gina Twynstra.
Ann VanHelvoort and my mom, two dear immigrant friends of long ago, were right next door to each other in the hospital (STEGH) during their last four weeks here on earth. I was able to sing some English and Dutch hymns and Christmas carols together, not only with my mom as she lay in her hospital bed but also with Ann. What a blessing of opportunity the Lord provided.
Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love, the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.
From sorrow, toil, and pain and sin, we shall be free; and perfect love and friendship reign through all eternity.
❤️ Marianne Pieters

Our sincere condolence with the passing on of your mom, grandma, great grandmother.
Ann will be remembered as a loving and caring member of our community. I remember sharing a meal in their home when my husband Andy was biking for sea to sea.
I signed her table cloth. There were many signatures of people who had come for a meal before me and I am sure there were many more after me.
When I arrived in Canada in the early seventies, I helped with the household as Ann was recovering from surgery I think. I was 20 and single. Andy and Ann tried to hook me up with a DeVries boy that lived close to them on Parkview Drive. I guess they were successful!
We will miss her along with you her family.
Warm hugs and love send your way,
Andy and Siska DeVries.
