Obituary of Ann Van Helvoort

VAN HELVOORT – Ann (nee Eizinga) of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the age of 88.  Beloved wife of the late Adrianus “Andy” Van Helvoort (2022).  Ann is survived by her loving children Betty (Fred) Morsink of Stratford, David (Donna) Van Helvoort of St. Thomas, and Margaret (Kees) Morsink of Sterling; daughter-in-law Laurie Van Helvoort of St. Thomas; by her grandchildren Kaleigh (Ryan) Douma and their children Maksum and Mataya, Nadine (Ryan) Van Horne and their children Oliver and Jackson, Greg Morsink and his son Hayden, Michael (Stephanie) Van Helvoort and their children Leah, Ben and Elise, Joshua Van Helvoort, Andrew (Taylor) Van Helvoort and their son Grant, Mark Van Helvoort, Melissa (Mike) Kroekenstoel and their children Elowyn and Lennon, Matthew (Alexa) Van Helvoort, Jasmine Morsink and Jade Morsink; and by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland.  Predeceased by her son Fred Van Helvoort (2023); parents David and Grace Eizinga; siblings Martha and George, Grace and George, and Marion; siblings-in-law Mary and Bas, Rut and Joe, Bep, Tun, Jan, Fritz and Miet and Dirk.  Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Private interment in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.  If desired, donations to St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
