Obituary of Lorretta Dillon Robinette

Obituary Lorretta Dillon Robinette of St.Thomas Ontario I have asked the people closest to me, not to be sad on my passing. Once you read my obit, you will all understand why. My faith has carried me into the arms of my Gorgeous Perfect Husband, Maurice Dillon Robinette. We were Blessed with each other’s love for 31 wonderful years. Those who knew Maurice and I are aware that there are very few people in the world that were as much in love as we were. In fact, when I would call Maurice my Gorgeous Perfect Husband, he would say, “Oh Sweetheart, no one’s perfect.” “And I would reply, ok, you’re not rich, but besides that!” And Maurice would reply, “Sweetheart we are rich, look at how much in love we are, there are very few people in the world that have what we have.” “Some will search a lifetime and never find the kind of love we have”. So, on the day we are reunited, it will be a joyous occasion. One of my favorite memories and an excellent example of how folks who knew us best viewed our relationship is demonstrated by an anniversary card my Dad bought us. He bought us the same card two years in a row, not realizing it at the time. The card read; “You two get along so well”” You never fight, you never argue”. And when you opened the card on the inside it said, “Are you sure you’re married?” “Happy Anniversary!” My husband’s love was a true blessing for me that those closest to us also saw. I was also blessed with the most perfect family and friends who are situated in various locations throughout Canada. Love You For Eternity! I was predeceased by my Perfect Parents, Eva and Maurice Dillon of St. Thomas Ontario. Beginning with my very first “real “job as a high school student at 15 years old when I got a part time job at the little Becker’s Store in St. Thomas and throughout my life, wherever I worked, I was always blessed to work among some of the world’s finest people. Love You For Eternity! I was a person who always said, “We all go when our time comes whether we smoke or not”. Those who know me are aware that I was a lifelong smoker, and I just had to include this in my obit. At the time of my diagnosis of terminal, the cancer was in my bones, liver, lymph nodes, abdomen and chest. Pretty much the only part of me that didn’t have cancer was my lungs! Just like I said, we all go when our time comes, whether we smoke or not! For the folks who thought I was crazy or silently judged me for being a smoker or others fighting cancer who continue to smoke. I thought this example was a wonderful opportunity to share this interesting fact of my situation and an effective way to show how our judgements of people can be wrong. So, as a final act of kindness, I ask you folks, if you ever had the urge to judge anyone in this situation or for any other reason, please think of this example and then think again and do not judge anyone for any reason. It is just unkind, unnecessary and likely unfounded. I’ve always believed that Everything Happens for a Reason. We are all doing exactly what we are meant to be doing At exactly the time God intended us to be doing it. God has a plan for each of us, and it will all turn out better than we can possibly imagine. This is how I lived my life, believing in, and trusting in God. To describe my life, I would say simply, I was a person who lived life “all in”, a person who lived my faith. In accordance with my wishes there will be no funeral service. If folks would like to donate in my memory, donations may be made to: Holy Angel’s Catholic Church ST. Thomas Ontario “OPERATING FUND”. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).
